Being Judged

Since I could ever remember, I was always told to never judge a book by its cover. And many a times have I judged something or someone due to appearance. Because you can never fully understand something or someone until you get to know the thing or person and they most shocking is that you many have more in common than you expected.
But the key question is why do we judge other cultures or whatever so is different to what we are used to? People judge others because they are different and so can be defined as exotic. Every single person in the world has been raised to believed that what they learned when they were a child was the right or proper thing. So when encountered with what so ever different would be judged. I can related this when I first came to college. I went to a strict all girls’ catholic school where you went straight home after school. Majority of the girls all came from the same family orientated background. We all understand what was considered a bad decision and what a good one decision was. Therefore when I came to college and met girls who I felt at that moment had no respect for themselves it was such a shock for me. Due to the way they behaved publicly, I judged them automatically and refused to associate myself with them. And it always seemed to be the same group of girls with each other. The saying “birds of a feather flock together” just showed more of my disappointment for them. It was only one day when I was forced to work with one of girls in my car that I then began to understand. We started to meet up and I took a liking to her. She seemed a lot more easy-going and extremely nice. From there I built a lasting friendship with her and till this has still yet to failed. I understood that when you are surrounded by people just like you and it is hard to give others a chance. That was my case back then and it has not been that way ever since.
I do not know if everyone one in this world including myself will ever stop judging people due to how we were raised but I know with an open mind our perception of others will always change.

How to apply makeup in 10 Easy Steps

How to apply makeup in 10 Easy Steps

  1. You should start with Sunscreen. Apply a moisturizer with SPF of at least 15 in any weather condition.
  2. Apply concealer after moisturizer. Dot concealer with your ring finger to dark areas such as under the eye, along the nose and on the chin. Blend it in with a patting motion.
  3. Next up is Foundation. Apply a tinted moisturizer to a full coverage foundation of your choice. Make sure to blend along the hair and jawline.
  4. Blush and/or Bronzer will follow. Apply blush on the apples of your cheeks. For a slimmer face, apply bronzer alone the hair and jawline and along the hollows of your cheeks.
  5. Apply eyeshadow before or after the blush/bronzer. When applying shadows for the first time, start neutral and complementary colors such as brown, gold and peach
  6.   Apply any type of eyeliner. Apply pencil eyeliner to water line and lash line. For a more precise and defined cat-eye, use a liquid liner
  7. Apply mascara and/or false lashes. Apply a generous amount of mascara to your top and lower lashes. For a more dramatic look, apply false lashes.

Wikipedia Change Part Two

Earlier in the my blog I made a descriptive change to Jocelyn Wilderstein's Wikipedia page.

This is the link to the previous Wikipedia change - Wikipedia Change

I chose to make a change on her page because I did do a blog post of Wilderstein extreme plastic surgeries  - Jocelyn Wilderstein

This is what the original looked like:

Jocelyn Wildenstein has had extensive cosmetic surgery to her face over the years, creating a "very unnatural appearance" intended to elicit a more catlike look, according to her husband. Wildenstein is rumoured to have spent $3,000,000, apparently done to please her husband, who loved big cats. Despite the unusual appearance of the plastic surgeries, Ms. Wildenstein is reported to be "ecstatic with her work. She feels beautiful. She looks in the mirror and she loves what she sees. She got exactly what she wanted."

This is what I changed it to:

Jocelyn Wildenstein has had extensive cosmetic surgery to her face over the years, creating a "very unnatural appearance" intended to elicit a more doglike look, according to her husband.Wildenstein is rumoured to have spent $4,000,000, apparently done to please her husband, who loved cheetahss. Despite the unusual appearance of the plastic surgeries, Ms. Wildenstein is reported to be "ecstatic with her work. She feels beautiful and loves to purr. She looks in the mirror and she loves what she sees. She got exactly what she wanted, cheetah power and all."

Unfortunately for me, the change did not last not more than two days. I was even surprised it even lasted that long. Personally, whoever is suppose to be keeping an eye on the page is not doing a fast enough job.

Body Dysmorphia

What exactly is body dysmorphia and why is it sweeping the nation? Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a mental disorder where an individual is obsessed by their personal body image and consider themselves to be unattractive as to undergo multiple cosmetic surgeries.

BDD can be caused by stress, anxiety and emotional depression which can lead individual to social withdraw and isolation.

Phillips, MD, director of the Body Dysmorphic Disorder Program at Rhode Island Hospital, says that "people with the disorder look normal, and are often considered beautiful. But they don’t see themselves that way. Instead, they obsess about their perceived flaw. It is very distressing and can sometimes make them housebound"

A famous celebrity that was diagnosed with the disorder was Michael Jackson
